If you are reading this, you have survived your entire life up until this point. You have survived traumas, heartbreak, devastation, the different phases of life, not because you’re smart, or skillful, for those who are more influential, intelligent and wealthy have not ceased to die! So, let us be full of thanks as we welcome 2017 in few hours!
“For all the blessings of the year, for all the friends we hold so dear, for peace on earth, both far & near. We thank thee Lord. For life & health, those common things which every day & hour brings, where our affection clings, we thank thee Lord. For love of thee which never tires, which all our better thoughts inspires, & warms our lives with heavenly fires, we thank thee Lord.” Yes, we are winning! #wethanktheeLord.

Though, it is foggy right now, but through the eyes of faith i can see into the new year, because there is hope for my tomorrow. I see victories, irreversible blessings, joy overflowing, love unstoppable, faith unsinkable, endless possibilities, unrivaled successes, jubilant parade! Yes, I am winning! Yes, we are winning!
The Biblical heroes were made strong out of weakness. They were not glaring examples of flawless character; yet they epitomized faith toward God. They may have felt weak, cried and suffered many afflictions, but they still made it! Even though they experienced failures and flaws, yet the dent in their amour didn’t affect their performance on the battle field. On the contrary, they were strengthened through struggles.
Walter Anderson rightly puts it thus, “Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself.” In spite of all the struggles and hardship in 2016, if you are reading this piece, then it means you’ve escaped; you are a survival! Yes, you are a winner! So therefore, look forward, keep calm, and expect a victorious 2017. You’re a Hero! You’re winning! Yes, we are winning!
Have you been bent over long enough? Had enough tragedy? Were you abused and misused? Perhaps all those you trusted in turned on you and broke your heart. Or your expectations for year 2016 failed? But, come on, in spite all of these God did sustained you. And I’m sure you know that you didn’t make it this far because you’re smart, wise or skillful. You made it because God’s amazing grace kept you.
I’m certain that God has more for you today than what you went through yesterday. Therefore, hold on, your breakthroughs are near! 2017 is coming, loaded with abundant blessings. You will sure stand straight! Yes, you can still stand up straight, because it is not over yet! You’re winning! #thankfullylookingahead
There’s nothing we can do but be crushed by the inevitable -or look to the invisible to do the impossible. “Apostle Paul testified, “We’ve been surrounded & battered by troubles, but we’re not demoralized; we’re not sure what to do, but we know that God knows what to do…”2 Cor. 4:8. “Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.” –Roger Crawford. Yes, everyone is challenged, however, you can chose to remain battered & bitter, or like Hannah, you can chose to pour your bitterness to the invincible God (1Sam1:12).
Story, story…Once upon a time, Moses lived for 40 years as a shepherd in the desert. He thought he could make a difference, but fulfillment eluded him. But he had to wait for another 40 years before he encountered God in a burning bush, and until then he was not propelled into confrontation with Pharaoh. After the divine encounter, he was empowered to lead Israel out of slavery and into worship of God.
