YWAW Foundation Commemorates World Youth Skills Day 2019
The World Youth Skills Day 2019 was celebrated by the Yes We Are Winning Foundation on the 13th of July, 2019, in commemoration of the International World Youth Skills Day.
The theme of the conference was: “FASHIONING MY SKILLS FOR PROFITABILITY & ECONOMIC GROWTH.”
Several seasoned young entrepreneurs and social innovators challenged us on the relevance of skills acquisition and self discovery in a challenging economy. The event which is to commemorate the annual World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) is to create awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development.
The event which is celebrated every July 15th, was celebrated by The Yes, We Are Winning Foundation on July 13th as her maiden World Youth Skills Day Symposium. Over 120 Youths from various works of life were in attendance to be part of this life-changing event.
Highlights of the event includes Seminars and workshops, Music and Dance, Entertainments, Exhibition of crafts, and networking. Our speakers were drawn from various works of life and this include: Crafts, Digital media, technology and the business world.
1.Agbons Igiewe
General Manager, ZIZA Digital captivates the participants with insights on Digital media and its opportunities for wealth creation. She gave 10 legitimate Digital media opportunities that can create employment for productive minds.

2. Ayobami Oni
Founder, Iranwo Foundation enlightened the youths on “Skills & Crafts That Promotes Economic Growth.” Ayobami who is actively involved in capacity building, enterpreneuship, and social services. In her presentation, she emphasised on the need for every youth to be equipped with relevant skills and Crafts in order to be financially independent. 3. Sheriff Shittu
Founder & CEO of GetDEv Technology, a technical talent management companion helping business start-ups and hire the best developers Bothe within and outside the country. Sheriff examined the import of technology on skills development. He spoke extensively on How to promote your Skills Through Technology. Amongst jobs that is available to a software Engineer includes but no limited to front-end engineer, backend engineer. He stressed on discipline, diligence and determination as key to career growth and economic empowerment. He also encouraged the participants to volunteer as intern to acquire relevant skills and experiences that would place them on top of their games.

4. Adebunmi Olatunji
The Female Carpenter & CEO OAG furniture was our Keynote speaker. She spoke on “The Role Of The Youth In Socio-Economic Growth.” She encouraged participants to be innovative and pursue excellence in their various careers of choice. In her presentation, she identified the roles of the youth as involvement in politics, Social innovation, Business etc. Furthermore, she disabuse the minds of the Youth from depending on the Government or individuals for their success in life, rather they should be creative and develop relevant business skills that would guaranty financial independence.

An amazing and talented bassist and worship leader who was born without the wrists. He played the base guitar skilfully with no sense of handicap. He motivated the crowd not to be limited by their minds but be determined to achieve excellence no matter the prevailing conditions.
