DESCRIPTION:The Yes\, We Are Winning foundation commemorates the annual World Youth Skills Day with the theme: TRANSFORMING YOUR SKILLS FOR THE FUTURE The World Youth Skills Day is celebrated every July 15 to encourage young people to gain the skills that will equip them for entrepreneurship and employability.\n\nDesignated by the General assembly in 2014\, the World Youth Skills Day is an opportunity for young people\, technical and vocational education and training institutions and public and private sector stakeholders to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of equipping young people with skills for employment\, decent work and entrepreneurship. \nSpeakers at the World Youth Skills Day Symposium in Lagos  \nSkills and jobs for youth feature prominently in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development\, and SDG target 4.4 calls for a substantial increase in the number of youth and adults who have relevant skills. \nAt the just concluded #worldyouthskillsday2022 symposium held in Lagos\, Nigeria\, our amiable guests speakers and mentors led decisive discussions about the need for #youths to inculcate winning mentalities that would foster self development and productivity. \n\nThey emphasised on the need for young people to gain relevant #skills that will help them achieve their personal success and help them make their dreams come through even in the most challenging environment.\n\nOur speakers includes: Mrs. Agbons Igiewe\, MD\, Ziza Digital\, Dr. Mrs. Adesola Falaiye\, MD & CEO\, AFKAR Prints & Publishing Company Ltd\, Miss Best Akindele\, MD Bestlines Creative Hub\, Mr. Aderemi Ogunpitan\, MD\, IBST Media.and Mr. Michael Sowunmi\, Founder\, Rising Star Foundation.\n\nWe were entertained by the amazing dance crew\, Chrysolite Crew from Ibadan. DESCRIPTION:The World Youth Skills Day 2019 was celebrated by the Yes We Are Winning Foundation on the 13th of July\, 2019\, in commemoration of the International World Youth Skills Day. \nThe theme of the conference was: “FASHIONING MY SKILLS FOR PROFITABILITY & ECONOMIC GROWTH.” \nSeveral seasoned young entrepreneurs and social innovators challenged us on the relevance of skills acquisition and self discovery in a challenging economy. The event which is to commemorate the annual World Youth Skills Day (WYSD) is to create awareness on the importance of investing in youth skills development. \nThe event which is celebrated every July 15th\, was celebrated by The Yes\, We Are Winning Foundation on July 13th as her maiden World Youth Skills Day Symposium.  Over 120 Youths from various works of life were in attendance to be part of this life-changing event. \nHighlights of the event includes Seminars and workshops\, Music and Dance\, Entertainments\, Exhibition of crafts\, and networking. Our speakers were drawn from various works of life and this include: Crafts\, Digital media\, technology and the business world. \n \n  \n  \n \n  \n1.Agbons Igiewe\n  \n \n  \nGeneral Manager\, ZIZA Digital captivates the participants with insights on Digital media and its opportunities for wealth creation. She gave 10 legitimate Digital media opportunities that can create employment for productive minds.\nAgbons has a verse experience in digital marketing spanning over 15 years. She’s also involved in training and manpower development in digital media. In her presentation\, she emphasised on the need for every youth to be equipped with relevant skills and Crafts in order to be financially independent. She identified emotional intelligence\, servant-leadership skills and team work as key to economic growth. Sheriff examined the import of technology on skills development. He spoke extensively on How to promote your Skills Through Technology. Amongst jobs that is available to a software Engineer includes but no limited to front-end engineer\, backend engineer. He stressed on discipline\, diligence and determination as key to career growth and economic empowerment.
